It appears we both thoroughly enjoyed our seminary experiences.John Shuckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00798753206614838161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30648257.post-70480830402682947232007-08-26T23:18:00.000-07:002007-08-26T23:18:00.000-07:00Try getting most of your religious studies from a ...Try getting most of your religious studies from a secular college. That is what most of my education consisted of. I have a BA in philosophy and one in Religious studies. After that I went through a unique program at Sacramento University that gives you a History/Humanities degree. So for that I stayed focused on intellectual and religious history. I had some great teachers, even the one who is a fellow with the Jesus Seminar, but I still had to be discerning about what I was learning.Viola Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146967423654966140noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30648257.post-83139549934247816492007-08-26T20:24:00.000-07:002007-08-26T20:24:00.000-07:00"The best thing about studying at Fuller was that ..."The best thing about studying at Fuller was that the professors didn’t let you just learn evangelical theology. You had to study every perspective. So I read various liberation theologies, process theology, Pentecostal theology, even Quaker theology along with current and past evangelical theologies."<BR/><BR/>That sounds just like my experiences at Southern Baptist Seminary. I wish the "broad-minded" and "diversity-affirming" folks at my seminary had been more inclusive in their curricular offerings.Chris Larimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01770607122746467750noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30648257.post-70820188720394895792007-08-26T17:43:00.000-07:002007-08-26T17:43:00.000-07:00"Ever notice that if you have a roof over your hea..."Ever notice that if you have a roof over your head, food to eat and books to read that life can be wonderful?" Words to live by Bob. I have taken some classes from Fuller in Sacramento as well as a couple in Menlo Park. Great teachers and students.Viola Larsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09146967423654966140noreply@blogger.com
