Are You Spiritually Progressive?

Thanks to my friend, John at Abundance Trek for the following. John found it on the Forum for Progressive Christianity.

  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I don't think God stopped speaking with Revelation 22:21.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I truly believe that there is no difference between race, gender, economic class, or sexual orientation in Christ.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I believe the spirit of Christ trumps the Bible.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I think God is more concerned about how well we love than about what we claim to believe.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I think that being a Christian is more about seeing God's will done here on earth now instead of about gaining heaven later.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I believe that science, reason, and intelligence are gifts of God.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I believe God's grace leads me to the edge of universalism while our free will keeps me from crossing over.
  • I see myself as spiritually progressive because I can stop at nine reasons instead of posting ten to give my post "biblical" precedent. :)

  2. I can't help myself, I have to point out - I'm pretty sure there are only eight reasons listed...:)

  3. Doug! LOL!

    Here is number nine:

I see myself as spiritually progressive because I like feeling and mood more than accuracy.

  4. I can live with that rather easily. Nicely done, John. :)

Of course, we can't forget our brethren on the other side of the shekel.
    Now, for the Spiritually Regressive.

    Me first....

1)I see myself as Spiritually Regressive because I think God stopped speaking to everyone but me with Revelation 22:21.
