Shuck and Jive is Five!

I forgot my own birthday.

On July 4th, 2011 Shuck and Jive turned five.

This is my 3,032nd post.

Here was my first post, July 4th, 2006. I didn't really start blogging until I stirred up trouble on August 7th, 2006 with "What If We Found the Body of Jesus?"

Then we were off to the races.

The true believers have been trying to get me for heresy for five years now.

They may yet.

August 1st is another birthday of sorts. I began my ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton on August 1st, 2005. Six years have gone by in a flash. I am truly fortunate to serve this congregation. This place has been an oasis for me and for many fellow travelers who question and seek.

  4. This is a great blog, I've learned a lot. At another progressive blog I read, the host/pastor remarked "Religion is one of the few fields where the trained professionals are expected _not_ to tell the people what they know." Thanks for informing us what scholars known, in your posts and in sermons.
