Dear Caretakers of Creation,
The Tennessee Scenic Vistas Protection Act is up for a vote next Wednesday, February 29th at 10:30am in the Senate Environment Committee. The vote is too close to call. The power of LEAF has always been your prayers and contacts to policy makers. We need you!
The following “Yes” votes need a thank you call or e-mail: Senators Stewart, Marrero, and Herron.
The remaining Environment Committee members would benefit from your e-mailed note or call of encouragement. (List of all members' e-mails for copying.)
You can compose an original letter, or just ask each Senator to “Please support SB 577 to protect Tennessee’s mountains.” If you need facts go to the Legislative Toolkit.
A powerful TV ad was produced and aired across the state by the Tennessee Conservation Voters to build on your contacts with legislators. It is encouraging to see. Check it out.
Keep the mountains and LEAF in your prayers, particularly between now and Wednesday.
