So That's Where the Gov Went...

Mark Sanford (R): The South Carolina governor, a potential presidential hopeful and a strong conservative, goes missing for nearly a week, as his staff gives incomplete and conflicting reports as to his whereabouts. Sanford returns from Argentina and admits to an affair with a woman there. He resigns as chairman of the Republican Governors Association but has not yet indicated whether he will quit the governorship.

Yup.

  1. The story is getting more and more tawdry, with e-mails between the governor and his girlfriend released (The State newspaper had them way back in December) and now the coup de grace of irony: when Sanford was a congressman in 1998, he voted to impeach Bill Clinton "He lied under a different oath, and that is the oath to his wife. So it’s got to be taken very, very seriously.”

So while I pray for his wife and children and the governor himself, Pastor Shuck please tell us what Biblical lesson we are to draw from this?
