At the time, I actually thought it sounded like, on balance, a good idea because of the humanitarian aspects -- taking out a dictator. However, as it turned out, once the iron hand was gone, there was seemingly uncontrolled bombings and chaos that continues to this day. Who knows, maybe fewer people would have been killed if Hussein had stayed in there. Obviously we now see that the war was a mistake, and I oppose any idea of new wars on Iran etc etc, which every Repub candidate seems to be spoiling for.
