Dukkha
The Witherspoon Society is no more. It has been born again as Presbyterian Voices for Justice.
This the result of the merger between Witherspoon and Voices of Sophia. I certainly am pleased that these two justice minded organizations within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) are now one in holy union.
But change is hard.
It is going to take me some time to get used to this new name.
Especially since the name "Witherspoon" gave me the excuse to post pics of Reese.
But like a good Buddhist I will seek to detach from my desire for the illusion of permanence.
Say a koan for me, will ya?

Call me fickle, but I have a hard time going to the (old) Witherspoon site. The design says to me "Welcome to the 1990s." That seems to be a serious hurdle when an organization wants to be taken seriously in this day and age. Hopefully, this merger will lead to a site redesign that is geared for relevance and communal participation.
ReplyDeleteMiss Witherspoon forgives you. She's cool like that.
ReplyDeleteWho says you should stop posting pictures of Reese Witherspoon? I say you keep doing it whenever you mention the Presbyterian Voices fo Justice. After a while no one will know the connection with the old Witherspoon Society and won't know why you are doing it and it will be just a cool and entertaining thing to do.
ReplyDelete@Seeker Good idea. Her image certainly brightens up a wordy blog!
