One of our FPCE peeps just graduated from ETSU and is now on a plane to Africa. Eileen Rush graduated with a journalism degree on Saturday, came to church Sunday, and will be in Uganda in less than 24 hours. Why? In her words:
I feel so ready for this adventure, for this time in my life and for the service I hope to give to the Ugandan and Sudanese refugees in the Namuwongo slum of Kampala. I'm ready to stand on the porch of Father's House, my eyes dancing with the waters of Lake Victoria. I'm ready to reach out my hands, open my heart and do my best to lift others up.Follow her blog, The Adventures of Eileen Rush in Africa.
And if you are the praying type, say one for her (and her just slightly worried family) will ya?
We are all cheering for you, Eileen!
This is so great! I can't wait to live vicariously through Eileen! And yes, I'll link her blog to the website.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the shoutout John! I should be in Uganda very soon -- had a little unexpected stop in Amsterdam along the way.
ReplyDeleteAll my love to the wonderful folks at FPC Elizabethton! Thanks for the support and prayers! Can't wait to be back for a service in late July.
We definitely need to have Eileen do an Adult Forum (or two) about her experiences!
ReplyDeleteEnjoying your blog posts. What a great way to journal about your experiences! Look forward to your next installment!
