ReplyDeletePenn & Teller expose the bullshit for what it really is. But it is not just our science classrooms that these fundamentalists are stealing; they are stealing our very democracy to the extent that they drive our political agendas in this country; and to the extent they succeed in politics they steal any hope for the United States really being a force for peace in the world, or the middle east, or in Palestine; and in the end, they are stealing hope of our children’s and children's children for a world of peace or any healthy sense of public good, for in many cases, this distorted an narrow fundamentalist agenda goes hand in hand with a very narrow neo-conservative economic agenda and its Machiavellian interpretation of capitalism (i.e., trickle down effect). God help this country if those asleep don’t wake up and fight back against both the narrow, greed driven neo-conservatives who think private interest should drive all intelligent discussion of public good, or the narrow fundamentalists who they so frequently run with hand in hand with, or manipulate and pander to with their political rhetoric, and which ignorant fundamentalists lap up like hogs and the trough.
I once had a fundamentalist neighbor who like all narrow minded and indoctrinated fundamentalists said with regards to the Palestinian proble, "Those Palestinians should just go back where they came from, God gave Israel Palestine." Of course, he was only parroting the neo-conservative fundamentalist Christian propaganda that has driven the blind support of Israel for since 1947, and which fails to recognize that in truth, the Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine in 1947 drove some 800,000 Palestinians out of their homes and land which they and their ancestors had been living on for the past 2,000 years!
