Caring for Creation in East Tennessee

I am thrilled to see a Caring for Creation Committee organized for the Tri-Cities. They have had two meetings so far and the next is this Sunday, July 19th:
On July 19, 2009 (4:30 pm), the ‘Care for Creation’ Interfaith Community Group will meet at St. John's Episcopal Church (Coffee Shop Room -- through front doors, across foyer). This group is working together within the Tri-Cities region to inspire faith communities to initiate, develop, and sustain programs that protect and celebrate God’s creation. To date, six faiths/denominations have been represented at our meetings. Join us for this important meeting as we map out our future AND hear from Rev. Doug Hunt, State Director of TN Interfaith Power & Light.

Anyone is welcome. Spread the word!

I am still processing the Presbyterians for Restoring Creation (now Presbyterians for Earth Care) event at Montreat this past week. It was a great conference and I will be posting about it. Getting involved in Interfaith Power and Light was one of my "action items!"
