Shuck and Jive is Three!

I started this blog July 4th, 2006.

2,102 posts later Shuck and Jive is three.

Here is my
first post from three years ago today:

John Witherspoon was the only clergyperson to sign the Declaration of Independence. He was a Presbyterian minister.

His signature is right there in the middle.

We Presbyterian clergy always seem to know how to get ourselves into trouble. That is not always such a bad thing. It can, however, result in some dark nights of the soul. Should I speak out about this or not? What will be the cost? Will I be supported? Is it worth it? In the final draft, the most important questions have to be these two: Is it true? Will it further the cause of goodness? I don't know if the world needs another blogger. I do feel the world needs goodness and truth. I will try to keep my words to that standard. I look forward to the conversation.

The fun didn't really get started for a month when I made my second post,
What If We Found the Body of Jesus?

It has been a lot of fun and I hope will continue to be fun. The fun is thanks to you, dear readers, for subscribing, forwarding posts to friends, reporting me to the authorities, commenting, or just lurking. Glad you are here!

  4. Happy birthday. And for stirring up trouble...

    Double, double toil and trouble;
    Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
