Today is Ash Wednesday.
We are having an Ash Wednesday service at FPC Elizabethton. You are invited. It will be a nice service with nice music, poetry, the imposition of ashes, and we will change the paraments from green to purple. The youth are helping with the liturgy.
I find this day to be helpful in honoring mortality and impermanence. I will offer a brief reflection on that topic.
We will hear some Kansas, hear a reading from the Bhagavad Gita, and honor the four elements (Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire).
