He is in the news again.
He loves Jesus though so it's all good.Stanley recently sponsored a bill designed to prevent gay couples from adopting children. And when a Planned Parenthood official recently sought his support for family planning services for Memphis teens, Stanley told her, according to the official, that he "didn't believe young people should have sex before marriage anyway, that his faith and church are important to him, and he wants to promote abstinence."
So far, so far Republican. But you can see where this is going...
In a sworn affidavit, a Tennessee state investigator has said that Stanley admitted to having a "sexual relationship" with a 22-year-old female intern working in his office, and to taking nude pictures of her in "provocative poses" in his apartment.

And Jesus loves him, even now. Unfortunately, he will take this as an opportunity to sell his faith like a skin tonic, letting us all know that "with his strong Christian faith and the help of God he will become even stronger", but he will likely not change his tune regarding others one bit. His zipper will open easier than his mind.

He is an adult, so he is past the age of abstinence. Hmmm, is he fit to be a parent, serving as an example of how a Bible thumping adult should conduct his life? I hardly think so. The big losers in this tawdry tale are his wife and 2 children. I think this guy is not supposed to be casting the first stone!

ReplyDeleteI hesitated to post this not wanting to kick a guy when he is down. I feel bad for him and his family. We all have feet of clay and this can happen to anyone.
ReplyDeleteWhen politicians use their religious beliefs and family values to get elected and seek to pass ideological legislation regarding the sexual behavior of others, they set themselves for a fall.
Oh well of conservative Republican hypocrisy, will you ever run dry?
