"I'd Love to Make the Winning Kick"

Our local high school football team has a ringer for a kicker this year. I think this is awesome. From Saturday's Johnson City Press:



ELIZABETHTON — Kicking a ball into a specified area to help her team win a game is nothing out of the ordinary for Christine Hardin. Doing it with a football in front of thousands of people is an entirely different story.


The Elizabethton girls’ soccer standout will pull double duty this fall. She will be the place-kicker for the Cyclones’ football team. “It takes a lot of courage, being a young lady and kicking for the football team,” said Elizabethton head coach Shawn Witten. “She has worked hard all summer for it. “She has a great mindset and she’s very positive. She’s very tough, and she is one of the better athletes in the school.” (Read More)
