I found God in myself
And I loved her
I loved her fiercely

  1. God found me, despite myself. And he loves me, he loves me fiercely.

  2. I have recently been reading Anne Rice's new book, Called Out of Darkness: A Spritual Confession she uses a poem that I have loved for many years, "The Hound of Heaven," to speak of God's pursuit of herself. So forgive me if I place it here it is on my mind.
    (well part of it is a very long poem)
    "I fled Him, down the nights an down the days;
    I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
    i fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways
    of my own mind; and in the midst of tears
    I hid from Him, and under running laughter.
    Up visted hopes I sped;
    and shot, precipated,
    Adown Titanic glooms of chasmed fears,
    from those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
    But with unhurrying chase,
    and unpreturbed pace,
    Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
    they beat==and a Voice beat
    more instant than the feet==
    'All things betray thee, who betrayed Me.'"
