Rev. Rick Warren's Short Memory

Does Rev. Rick Warren not think the internet exists? What does he think he is doing when he says this last night on Larry King Live?
I am not an anti-gay or anti-gay marriage activist. I never have been. I never will be. During the whole Proposition 8 thing, I never once went to a meeting, never once issued a statement, never once even gave an endorsement in the two years Prop 8 was going.

Here he is in October 2008:
Let me just say this really clearly. We support Proposition 8. And if you believe what the Bible says about marriage, you need to support Proposition 8.

  2. So he's "Lying for the Lord," and it's okay because you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, right?

Heh. Maybe he's worried that sales of his "Purpose Driven" empire might slip if people think he's a bigot.

  3. I've gotten so used to folks like him lying, I'm not even surprised anymore.

  4. Seriously, that is just unbelieveable. He is a bigoted idiot.

  5. Rick Warren's rearrangement of facts aside, this is a perfect example of what Amy Goodman was talking about last night. Larry King could have challenged him when he said he had never been involved in Prop 8, etc., but he didn't.

  6. The bible calls this bearing false witness. What a buffoon.

  7. That's amazing! What tipped you off to find the other clip?

(Seems to me that CNN missed a fabulous journalistic opportunity - which makes me wonder. They showed pictures of white phosphorous attacks on urban villages in Gaza for weeks without ever asking even in a curious manner what were all those strange glowing jelly fish air bursts for. Is it incompetence or is it censorship?)

If he is dissembling this badly, I'd say Rick Warren is heading for a crash.

I wonder what skeletons he has in HIS closet.

(He's lying about the institution of marriage too. Or is it ignorance? He obviously has a habit of making stuff up on the fly. He started out to say Christian marriage but only got "Chrisss.." out, and then changed his mind and went for the uber fish tale. And yet people still think he is the cat's meow.)

  8. I am just reporting what others found. I saw it on levellers and gaytheist who I hattipped in the post.

Snad nailed it in regards to mainstream media so used not to asking questions about important things like war and peace, now they don't even question preachers.

Larry King, for some weird reason, has had a love affair with Rick Warren for some time.
