Being ignorant of these realities is better than knowing them. -- Sadad al-HusseiniDo you agree?
Here is a seven minute clip from the Association for the Study of Peak Oil (ASPO) about Peak Oil regarding the importance of acknowledging the reality that will change your life more than any other.
One of the speakers, Sadad Al-Husseini, suggests that the reason governments (READ OBAMA) are not telling us the truth is because they don't think we can handle the truth. We are just too fragile and too precious and too freaking thick-headed. It is better for the masses to remain ignorant.
Al-Husseini doesn't believe this of course. He is offering his take on the baffling situation of the world's ignorance of the most significant event on Earth.
Despite our leaders, people are waking up. We must.
That is why I am annoying the crap out of you by posting on Peak Oil every day.
Hi John --
ReplyDeleteKeep annoying us. I think we are enjoying the results of the Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.
What everyone needs is accurate information, to counter the Bozos on Fox and the Rupert Murdochs and Roves and Cheneys of the world who would rather rule by fear.
Most of all we need information about how to change our lives so that we can stop using oil.
I have just started the process of moving my website and blog to a Green internet provider. Visit TeachAMantoFish.US The actual provider is a Texas Company with Gator in the name. They run on Wind Power

Hi John, You're not annoying me, you're enlightening me. I mean, if I can't trust a Presbyterian pastor, who CAN I trust? And I agree with SEA RAVEN... we need information about how to change our lives. Maybe Transitions Initiatives has the answers. Check 'em out:

Thank you Sea and Sam! I appreciate that very much. And the links!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, it does feel a bit lonely posting about this stuff. It is good to hear some positive feedback!
I'm going to start posting some links on the side bar like Transition Network and Teach A Man To Fish to help get the word out!
