PFLAG Tri-Cities Media Release

I was just contacted by Dave Hogan of the 910AM WJCW morning show. He wants to interview me on his program Monday, May 19th at 7:40 a.m. to talk about PFLAG. The word is getting out. Here is the news release we sent yesterday:

Press Release

Johnson City, TN – Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays for the Tri-Cities Area (PFLAG Tri-Cities) will hold its second meeting Thursday May 15th in Room #315 of Warf-Pickel Hall on the campus of East Tennessee State University.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Over fifty people attended its inaugural meeting in April. Currently 80 people are on its mailing list with more added each day. PFLAG Tri-Cities serves East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina.

PFLAG Tri-Cities has two main purposes: to provide a support community for all individuals who have a GLBT person in their life and to provide support to GLBT and questioning people.

Even if you do not have a GLBT person in your life; you can be an ally. Allies are invited to be part of our mission of making our community safer, affirming, and more inclusive of GLBT or questioning individuals.

A Speakers’ Bureau is being formed to reach out into the community. PFLAG Tri-Cities has a website, www.pflagtricities.org, a weblog, www.pflagtricities.blogspot.com, a mailing address for tax-deductible contributions, P.O. Box 42, Mountain Home, TN 37684, and an e-mail address, pflagtricities@yahoo.com.
