Paul, Food, and the Covered Bridge

This is a great weekend to visit Elizabethton for its 41st Covered Bridge Festival. Here are details and a photo from the Johnson City Press.

And this is from the Elizabethton
Star.

Also, this weekend, Friday and Saturday, is the Food For the Multitude Yard/Bake sale.

Finally, I am going to be leading Sunday's Adult Forum on the Apostle Paul. Was Paul as homophobic, misogynistic, arrogant, opaque, and apocalyptic as his homophobic, misogynistic, arrogant, opaque, and apocalyptic fan base is? Maybe. Maybe not. Rescuing Paul from his fan base is the task.

On Sunday, and for seven Sundays this summer I will be preaching on Paul as seen in the seven letters all scholars agree were authored by Paul. I think that Paul was a great deal more radical than he has been interpreted (beginning with misinterpretations within the New Testament itself) and he deserves a chance. So...the title for my series on Paul is "All We Are Say-ying, Is Give Paul a Chance." If you don't get that reference, click here!
