Time to Get Serious About Expand Your Mind Week

We have a big week coming in September. I want to see all of you there.

September 7, 8, & 9 First Presbyterian of Elizabethton and Holston Valley Unitarian Universalist Church welcome Michael Dowd and Connie Barlow.

We have added the director of the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, Mark Koenig to the schedule.

Sunday, September 7th:
  • Michael Dowd leads worship at First Presbyterian (11:00) and the Adult Forum (9:45).
  • Connie Barlow leads worship at Holston Valley UU (10:30).
  • Connie Barlow leads a workshop from 3-5 p.m. at HVUUC with a potluck.
Monday, September 8th:
  • We will begin with supper. We fix it. You eat it at 5:00.
  • At 5:45, Mark Koenig will talk about peacemaking and the issues we are facing in our country and in our world and how peacemakers can respond.
  • At 7:00 Michael Dowd will lead a workshop on Thank God for Evolution! Hallelujah!
Tuesday, September 9th:
  • Michael Dowd leads a workshop at HVUUC at 7 p.m.

All the workshops are different. So you will want to attend each one. Childcare is provided.

Then...if your mind hasn't already expanded beyond recognition, First Pres. hosts a Jesus Seminar on the Road, September 12-13!
Early bird registration ends August 22nd.

I am thrilled that we have two excellent scholars and teachers, Hal Taussig and Arthur Dewey coming to the Tri-Cities. This is a big deal.
