So They Call You a Conspiracy Theorist? It Could Be Worse

I am making posts this week on 9/11.

I feel ashamed.

I feel ashamed that it has taken me nine years to write this post. It wasn't long after the events of September 11th, 2001 that I knew something was wrong with the story we were being led to believe.

Over the years I have embraced "The Coincidence Theory" as Michael Ruppert calls it. That is the theory that our leaders didn't have anything to do with 9/11 but they used it as a reason for Afghanistan, Iraq, the Patriot Act, etc. It was an amazing coincidence. Just when the neocons needed it, it fell into their laps.

Zbigniew Brzezinski (more on him to come) wrote in 1997 (four years before 9/11/2001) in his infamous book, The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives:

"Moreover, as America becomes an increasingly multi-cultural society, it may find it more difficult to fashion a consensus on foreign policy issues, except in the circumstance of a truly massive and widely perceived direct external threat."(p. 211)

What a coincidence that an external threat attacked the U.S. on September 11th, 2001.

I didn't really believe "The Coincidence Theory" put forth by the Coincidence Theorists but I was supposed to believe it. It is what a good leftist would believe. Because if you actually say what you really think, you won't be credible when you talk about important things like "Peak Oil" (which is hard enough to communicate anyway).

If you get tagged as a "conspiracy theorist truther" no one will believe you when you speak against the wars, advocate for gay rights, challenge theological beliefs, suggest a tasty entree at your favorite restaurant, or anything else for that matter.

So we who have known that something has been screwed up for some time speak in whispers to one another, waiting for someone big and important to tell the truth. But it never happens. The media doesn't care. Politicians? Ha!

And religious people? It is actually the clergy who are supposed to tell the truth. That is what we are about, at least as I understand my ordination vows. I never took a vow to a creed. I took it and still take it to the truth.

Big talk from me. I broke my vow. I didn't speak truth when I should have--a long time ago.

But now, nine years after the fact, yes, I am a truther.

I am ashamed that it has taken this long.

I am not the only one who bought "The Coincidence Theory". You probably did too. I think it is important for us to know the truth even though there will likely never be any further official investigation.

We should seek truth for truth's sake. We should also seek it for our future's sake. The reason for 9/11 still exists. Peak Oil is here. The grand chessplayers will do whatever they have to do when they need to do so. Maybe, just maybe, if enough people are willing to tell and hear the truth about our global situation, we can at least behave more decently than our leaders.

A few weeks ago I wrote a couple of posts about the rising islamophobia in our country, Is It Fair to Deny Baptists a Place to Worship Freely? and Crazy Hysterical Christians. As the ninth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, the hysteria increases against Americans who also happen to be Muslim. It isn't right. It isn't fair. Muslims had nothing to do with it.

We have reached Peak Oil. Our leaders know this. They have known it has been imminent for some time. Our current president knows it. His predecessor knew it, and the one before him.

We have reached the limits of our consumption. In order for the wheels to keep turning, we cannot be told that. We have to buy stuff. It is not in the media's interest (because it is the corporate media) to tell us the truth. The media serves growth.

You can't grow unless you have energy.

We need 20 million barrels of oil a day. Every day. We produce six. We need 20. Our leaders (and the CIA) will do what it takes to get it. "The American way of life is non-negotiable." Wars, crashing other country's economies, military bases all over the planet, whatever it takes. Inconceivable evil will be and has been done.

Of course, our leaders can't just do that in the open. We would object. It isn't right to go and murder and steal. So our leaders make a deal with us. They will give us a bad guy so we won't have to look at ourselves. We won't ask any questions.

60% of the world's oil reserves are in the Middle East. The "bad guy" is the angry, evil Muslim who sits on those reserves. Look what he did on September 11th, 2001! We are outraged. We must protect ourselves. Patriot Act. War with Iraq. War in Afghanistan. Torture. Whatever. We give our leaders whatever they need to "protect" us. But they are really securing the remaining reserves under the guise of protecting us.

So we make a deal with our leaders that is mostly unconscious. We say:

"Keep the gas coming and we will believe your story about the evil Muslims and the orange terror alerts. We will believe the fairy tale that we are good and moral and our military bases around the world are for the world's good. And all the people all over the planet that we have pissed off hate us because of our freedoms not because we are greedy. We won't believe or at least we won't say and we will ridicule those who do say -- that it is about oil. We promise. We will of course believe your story about 911."
It has taken me nine years to finally be able to say publicly what I believe to be true.

911 was a false flag.

Yes, there was a hijacking. There were many attempts that were easily stopped long before 9/11 and after. On that day our leaders decided to stop the rest but let one plan succeed. Not only that, they helped it along.

For those who care to really look, you can go here and the best book on the topic is here.

We are actually good people and we cannot imagine that such evil would be committed. We cannot go there emotionally, psychologically, or spiritually. So even when confronted with truth, we immediately deny.

Those who are more conscious rationalize. Why look too deeply? Why open this can of worms? Does it matter? Is it worth it to talk about it? Should I jeopardize my own career, be called a "conspiracy theorist", and lose credibility on other issues?

These false flags have happened before throughout history. They are great tricks to keep the populace compliant.

All that said, more and more people are waking up. That would be bad for our oil habit.

So in response to the reality that more and more are waking up to Peak Oil and the geopolitics of it (including 9/11) the media maelstrom regarding the mosque at ground zero continues to reinforce the fable of 9/11.

It is a morality play. Like a religious drama that is repeated every year we need to continue to be indoctrinated that the evil Muslims are a threat. That justifies handing authority without question (or with token questions) to military escapades to secure oil reserves under the guise of protecting us from terrorists.

Here are some important books about 9/11 (that I have read):

Here are some good films about 9/11 (that I have seen):

  1. Hmmm. I struggle with this idea of a conspiracy of government to "create" 9/11. Part of me says it is impossible for a government to do something SO horrible, SO cynical, SO evil - but then I think of the Holocaust, the genocide in Rwanda, and the carpet bombing of Tokyo and TWO f@&%ing nuclear bombs and I have to cross that excuse off the list.

Then I say to myself - how can a government that is obviously incompetent in SO many ways be SO competent as to pull off something so complex, and cover their tracks SO well? And then I have to think about who is in charge, what their agenda is, and how psychopathic they are in achieving their goals - think New American Century - and I have to wonder. And I recall Grover Norquist's goal of making government so small that it could be drowned in a bathtub. What better way for its citizenry to want that drowning - TO ASSIST IN IT THANK YOU TEA PARTY! - than to make it appear so f@&%ing incompetent that you WANT to kill it? Another cross-off.

I still don't believe the US government planned and executed the terrorist attacks on its people on September 11, 2001. At least I still don't want to believe it. What I do find quite possible is that they knew, if they bankrolled the right people and turned the attention of other right people, eventually something would happen - most likely they knew that what did happen would happen, without knowing the exact date, time, and exact players. That much I can let myself believe. And that is certainly enough.

But what do you do with that? As much as I would like to, I don't have the money, the education, the skills to be accepted as a permanent citizen in another country. And what country would that be? Canada? Australia? New Zealand? Those are about the only ones that haven't done anything horrendous yet. And even if I did, I'm not ready to leave family here. And I love the physical place that is this continent. What variety! What beauty! That I should give it up because of these assholes and their agenda just makes me FUME!

And while some sort of armed insurrection may be inevitable, I doubt I'm going to be in the front lines of that army. It's gonna have to get a lot worse before I find the motivation to go down that road.

So what do we do with this knowledge that most people don't want to believe either, and those who know it's true (because they own it) laugh at because they hold the strings and the secret archives with the deals and the coin to make it happen as often as they need to when it is in their best interests?

What do we do, dear friend?

  2. There are a couple of things, intellectual acceptance of evidence and emotional acceptance.

Throughout history emperors have done great evil. They often do it because they think it is a necessary evil. Cheney, Rumsfield, PNAC, the CIA, all think they are doing what is necessary and ultimately good.

I don't think coordinating 9/11 was good. I don't appreciate that they did it for my benefit. The evidence and motivation has convinced me that this event was an inside job. It doesn't take that many people to pull it off. I believe they are very competent.

Over the course of the week I will point out resources to read and watch that are convincing (at least to me).

Should we care? I want to know what is true, regardless of how painful it is and regardless of whether I can do anything about it (except point to it).

I cannot live with myself if I know the evils of the government and do not point them out. Our Muslim neighbors are being falsely accused. That isn't right.

It's funny really, as I am accused on this blog of not having faith, etc. The accusation may be accurate for what it is worth.

But, it is my perception of my faith that drives me toward this. I follow a guy who was executed by legitimate state-sponsored terrorism. It happened 2000 years ago. It happens today. That terrorism happens all over this planet by the U.S. government.

Just because I don't want to believe it, doesn't mean it isn't true.

I don't know what anyone else should do. I know my role. That is to search for and tell the truth to the best of my ability in my sphere of influence.

But in order to keep some level of sanity in this, I think it also important for me to be involved in something, some movement for peace, justice, human rights, decency. I try to do that.

My faith also says that the executed Jesus is risen. Not literally, but alive in us, in the search, in the telling, in the action for justice, truth, and compassion. That is what I really believe. In the end, that truth is more powerful than Empire's lies.

  3. Well, I guess it's time to invoke Vonnegut again. He said once, that when things get really bad, you have to decide whether to laugh or cry. By choosing to laugh, he said, it was easier to clean up and get on with things.

I guess this is where the via positiva comes in, eh? It's either that or go stark raving insane, and frankly, that would throw a real wrench into my clock.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ah, the via positiva.

Kurt's got it and so does Molly Ivins. You know this one:

"So keep fightin' for freedom and justice, beloveds, but don't you forget to have fun doin' it. Lord, let your laughter ring forth. Be outrageous, ridicule the fraidy-cats, rejoice in all the oddities that freedom can produce. And when you get through kickin' ass and celebratin' the sheer joy of a good fight, be sure to tell those who come after how much fun it was."

This is fun telling the truth! We laugh at these fools who think they can lie and get away with it forever.

I appreciate what you are saying because it is going to help me with future posts on this.

This is a deeply spiritual issue. The facts are one thing. Once we face that it is pretty easy to see that this was a false flag.

The real task is the spiritual issue of what it means to be an American and then to have all our myths about that shattered and then to find ourselves again as human beings.

  5. Dear Snad and John,

How complex indeed! It is disheartening to think that our own government could do such a thing. But, then again, I’m still wondering about our own government involvement in the Kennedy assassination. It’s very ironic and disturbing to me that the JFK and Medgar Evers killings happened the same year. A fighter for civil rights for blacks, the murderer of Medgar Evers took place on 12 June 1963 in the town of Jackson Mississippi , just as President John F. Kennedy made his speech on the equality of men; white and black in America. Evers was assassinated with a shot in the back that pierced his body. Beckwith murdered Evers just outside his door, under the eyes of his wife and three children, he left behind. Byron De la Beckwith was finally convicted of Evers’ assassination but it was only after two trials were conducted to determine the guilt of the man in question. However, both times, the jury composed entirely of white men did not reach any verdict. However, the wife of Medgar Evers (Myrlie) did not despair and continued to fight for thirty years. So, in 1994 Beckwith was summoned to a new trial where he was tried by a jury composed of eight mixed-sex blacks and four whites. The State Attorney brought enough evidence to imprison Beckwith, including the fact that the killer had been a member of the Ku Klux Klan and that he had repeatedly boasted of the murder of Medgar Evers. Beckwith died in prison.

My point in all of this is: For years the truth is not what it seems to be. But, won’t someday the truth set us free?

I believe that someday the likes of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Carl Rove, and Donald Rumsfeld will also have to answer ... to someone.

  6. Well, "truther" is a shout-down word used by Zionists to deflect from the fact that Israel is suspect in the attacks on 9/11.

It's impossible to say exactly what went down on that day, but if there are lingering questions, there must be lingering answers.

    When Googling:

    Operation Northwoods

    5 Israelis

    PNAC "New Pearl Harbor"

Section V of Rebuilding America's Defenses, entitled "Creating Tomorrow's Dominant Force", includes the sentence: "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor"

Whatever happened, far too many questions have yet to be answered. And until they are, we should never stop asking.

  7. John

I reviewed a number of articles on the "peak oil" crises. Common sense tells us that oil  is running out, a matter of concern, but not hysteria. I also do not find the 9/11 conspiracy theories convincing.

The Iraq war will not assure us of a continuing supply of oil, if that was the intent. There are too many variables. Oil is a global commodity. It is irrelevant who buys or sells it. Iraq will sell to the highest bidder whether it be us, China, or anyone else.

While have been busy in the Middle East, China has been pouring money into infrastructure and education. They lead the world in high speed trains and in their manufacture. Take a five hour train ride from Beijing to Shanghai, beats flying. They are now the second largest economy in the world. They are going to eat our lunch.

  8. Thanks, Captain.

We do need to keep asking questions.

  9. John,

Thanks for your thoughts and for hanging in there with me, even though you are not convinced.

I am going to keep plugging away! : )

  10. Tony!

Thanks for the good words and thanks for the song you sent via cd! Awesome!!

The Lord is a Woman But Dresses Like a Man. : )

You bring up a good point.

False flags have been used in this country in the past to manipulate the people to an action they would not otherwise approve.

Griffin's presentation is helpful with that.
