A Summer Poem

A Friend sent me this:

This is a beautiful summer poem which might help to cool you down. It is written by the same wonderful poet who wrote "Winter. " If you remember, I sent that one out a year or two ago and this is very reminiscent of her lovely style. Hope you enjoyed that one just as much as you will love this one.

"Summer "
a poem by Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre

SHIT!
It's Hot !

  1. Thanks so much for this. I sent it directly to one of my coworkers who sends me tons of glurge (Barbara "Snopes" Mikkelson's term for quasi-inspirational crap that's like "chicken soup with several cups of sugar mixed in") plus several fellow sufferers of her melodramatic onslaughts (the kind that are "prayers" that you have to forward to five people else God will smote the cute kid in the story).

  2. I should mention that here in San Francisco, it has actually been cold the last few days. Of course, that's par for the course here. The forecast that the SFGate web site offers has the following high temperatures for the next five days:

    64, 65, 65, 66, 66.

So of course, the San Francisco summer poem reads:

    SHIT!
    It's Cold!

  3. It's been 90 and near 100% humid here in the Mid-Atlantic. ICKY.

    I'd rather be cold.

  4. Can you help put us in contact with Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre, who wrote Summer, and also wrote Winter? We want to talk to her about including some of her work in our new literary magazine Tavern (www.thetavernmagazine.com)

    Thanks

    Chuck
