He's a Duck! Therefore, a witch!

H/T to Evangelical Right for this one:

"Pastor Byrd says the sign is not meant to be racial or political but rather to make people think. "His name is so close to Osama I have a feeling he might be Islamic therefore he doesn't recognize Christ," Pastor Byrd said."

  1. What the hell is wrong with these people? It seems so hopeless that we'll ever have an intelligent election in this country. Should we expect Pastor Byrd to flap his freaking arms and fly away? Because his name sure sounds like bird, and that's some solid reasoning right there.

  2. Let's see...

Mink rhymes with drink which must mean that minks are all drunks which legitimates the fur trade.

Nice way to work the angles of irrationality. And Christian wonder why atheists think that we are all stupid.

Oh yeah and since Bird rhymes with turd, we know what this guy really is made of.

  3. Wow. Yet more evidence that, statistically speaking, 50% of all people are dumber than the average person. That is, I guess, the downside of the web. In the olden days you only heard about the dumb people who lived near you. These days you get exposed to dumbness from across the country.

  4. This is absolutely ridiculous. I shouldn't be surprised, I know. but I am.

  5. Wow. That's some brilliant sound reasoning right there...

What I can't believe is that this pastor actually came up with it on his own. Hasn't the "Obama = Osama" meme been going around for months now? (And it's been just as stupid the whole time, too.)

    *headdesk*

  6. And the bummer is that my church board won't let me have a big gaudy church sign so I can display my witticisms that the world cannot possibly do without.

I want a signboard and a really big bus so I can be like my other preacher pals. That's all, a signboard and big bus, a really big one. And I want to drive it.

Oh, and my own radio program! I want that too.

For some reason they just quietly table my requests.

  8. Ugh, this one has been spammed to death, and now we get a concrete image of a church bulletin board making that comparison.

That's like claiming that anyone with Tyson in their name (or anything similar even) is going to beat you up, rape you, and bite your ear off. It's silly.

    What a Byrd-brain. :-p Hey, it's all in fair name-calling, right?

  9. When I see that sign I want to swear and say "What kind of f*ckery is this please?!"

    I can say that here- can't I?

  12. "I don't mean this to be racial or political, but this particular Democrat has a first name that is similar to an Arab dude's last name, therefore they are both Arabs, apparently the last racial group left it's socially acceptable to hate in America."

This is similar to the "I don't hate you personally, I just hate who you are" crap.

We once had a choir director whose last name was "Hettler". Does that mean we should assume she was a Nazi? They could be brother-and-sister, after all!
