Shall We Remove Every Mountain?
Thanks to First Presby Sandy for this:
"I just emailed my representatives asking them to co-sponsor the Clean Water Protection Act to save the Appalachian Mountains from mountaintop removal mining. It was quick and easy, so please do the same by visiting here."
Kudos, Sandy!
I wrote new lyrics to the tune of Climb Every Mountain.
Play the tune and sing along!
Move every mountain, clog every stream.
Find your coal abundant, the Amer'can dream.
Follow all who tell you, there's no other choice.
Keep and keep consuming, your cough is your voice.
A-mer-i-cans need
All the coal you can give.
Let us blow off your tops
Where the nobodies live!
Love my electric! All else be dammed!
Solar power? Nonsense! That's not in our plan.
A-mer-i-cans need
All the coal you can give.
Let us blow off your tops
Where the nobodies live!
Look not to tomorrow! Live for today!
Sorry kids, its smoggy! Stay inside to play.

Stop your irony is killin' me. :) They won't be satisfied until everything is paved over.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, John! I love to point out mountaintop removal whenever I hear someone bring out the argument that wind farms are "too ugly". http://snadandjohn.blogspot.com/2007/09/we-took-little-trip-over-labor-day.html
ReplyDeleteHappy to do it, but David Davis and Lamar Alexander are two of the most worthless pieces of (something vile) there is in this area. They, especially Davis, do not care about the environment in this area.
ReplyDeleteCongress has a chance, they'd better make good on it. Topping is a threat to the lives of the children of Appalachia. If the government doesn't stop it, the people may have to take matters into their own hands. And will be justified in any course of action we decide to take.
