The person who put Dances for Universal Peace together said that if we dance together, eat together, and one other thing that I can't remember, we would have world peace. Dang, what was that?
Anyway, here is a video of me dancin' the peace. I'm the guy in the middle. We already have it on YouTube.
OK, it was a great evening. Thanks, Rebecca, for leading us in this sacred dance. Rebecca is the only Dances for Universal Peace leader in Tennessee. It is a movement that is going around the world. Here is what they are about.
The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements from the many traditions of the earth to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and others. Based on the work begun in the late 60's by Samuel L. Lewis, they promote peace and integration within individuals and groups worldwide. There are no performers nor audience - new arrivals and old hands form the circle together. And, no prior experience is necessary! It was a great way to start the holidays....
The third thing is "pray together" this is the intention and prayer of Samuel Lewis the mother of the dances.
