Forward Thinking LayMAN Hires Executive Director

Here is a surprise. The LayMAN has hired a fundy to be its executive director.

Charles "Chuck" Burge is the new man. He worked for superfundy D. James Kennedy in Florida. Mr. Burge oversaw the production of this bit of scholarship, Darwin's Deadly Legacy, starring Ann Coulter!!
This groundbreaking documentary from Dr. Kennedy and Coral Ridge Ministries, looks into the chilling social impact of Darwin's theory of evolution -- and the mounting evidence that Darwin had it wrong on the origin of life.
Here is what Mr. Burge believes:

"The strongest personal belief to which I adhere would be regarding Biblical fidelity and an orthodox understanding of interpreting the Scriptures as pertaining to all matters of faith and life."

"I believe that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are inerrant, infallible and entirely reliable in all matters of faith and practice," Burge said. "I adhere to the understanding of the Scriptures as found in the Westminster Confession of Faith."

Yep, the LayMAN is set to party like its 1649!!

  1. Well, at least the Layman has stopped pretending.

  2. Anyone that would even stand in the same room with Mann Coulter for any reason other than to commit felonious assault is a disgrace to humanity.

Thanx for the heads up, John. I'll call and cancel any further issues.

So does this mean that we can now officially consider the Layman a whack-a-doodle rag published by insiders from another denomination? If the director is stuck in the 1920s on the issue of Biblical inerrancy and in the 1960s on the supremacy of Westminster, and doesn't even belong to the PC(USA), then why should anyone in our denomination bother with it? I don't read The Watchtower either.

So which is it the WC or the Scriptures? Is the WC interpretation magically infallible? What an idolater!

Yet another twit who does not seem to have a minimal understanding of science. A theory is a proven or set of proven hypotheses. There has been nothing to disprove evolution. Now Darwin's idea of evolution has been challenged. But not evolution as a formative scientific concept that is deemed as fact nearly beyond reproach. That evolution occured and occurs is a fact. How it actually happened is up for debate.

Another strawman and another clear liar trying to pump up his own stature and organization.

Finally, he must therefore keep kosher, understand the cosmos to be just under 6000 years old, dig slavery, denigrate women, accept polygamy, believe that other gods exist although inferior to Yahweh, believe that each nation has a chief god with a pantheon of others that are real, and so on.

What a crock and an embarrassment to Christ.

Well said Drew! But the fundamentalist luddites are not going to die out quietly without a fight. They are very skilled at waging PR campaigns from the pulpit and at using backdoor means to push their ignorant and foolish religious beliefs into the American Education and Text Book industries. The current revolution in scientific knowledge of biology is going to be a big one, and it will change forever how we view inheritance and the causal basis of evolution, but it won't alter one bit the fact that organic evolution has occurred, and continues to occur, and is the means by which the Creator has chosen to create creatures able to recognize, receive, and return the divine affection. As the Shin Buddhists say, the universe is one big buddha making machine!

The myriads of planetary systems were all made to be eventually inhabited by many different types of intelligent creatures, beings who could know God, receive the divine affection, and love him in return. "God created the heavens and formed the earth; he established the universe and created this world not in vain; he formed it to be inhabited."

  6. Wow John,

You are right. By hiring a Moody Fundamentalist they abandon all pretext of being anything else other than a Fundamentalist Tabloid.

Works for me. I hate trying to point out the obvious.
