Personally, I am happy that Huckabee is gaining in the polls. It should make it easier for anyone with above-brain-stem funtioning to vote outside the Republican party (she said, hopingly)!
Be careful what you wish for. This is exactly what I thought in 2000.
Republicans are idiots no matter where you find them it seems. But that's fine. As long as Democrats continue to reject Clinton type corporate whoredom, we may just come out ahead in November.
Looking back, I'd take Clinton-style corporate whoredom over Bush-style corporate pimping.
That was great John. Thanks for the laugh. It's true Republicans are bigger idiots than Dems, but both parties are corrupt to the core. If you are a part of the system then you are corrupt. Allan Nairn says here that "People should not be running for president, they should be running to abolish the American presidency." He also says,"You get a vote, but not a choice, at least if you want to vote against murder and for keeping hungry kids alive and thinking."Don't take my word for it. Watch this episode of Democracy Now and do your own research on the Council of Foreign Relations.
Unfortunately it's very true that there is considerable corruption amongst democrats. Mr. Hsu was sentenced to three years yesterday and I'm glad to see it. This party needs an enema, voting the corruption out is the only solution. With the Clintons and the Fords and and others like them gone, the Democratic party will be a much better place to be.Unfortunately for the Republicans, the disease has spread to the brain and a cure is impossible.Regardless of affiliation, what America needs is someone that will wield a sharp sword and cut the Blackwater/Halliburton/Exxon/Cigna crowd off at the knees.Only Dennis Kucinich or John Edwards would do that. There's a fine line between corporatism and fascism, and we're on the wrong side of it right now.
tn420 corporatism and fascism,Is it possible that corporatism and fascism have joined forces? If you need to vote out the Clintons and Fords, aren't they just as terminally corrupt as the Republicans that need the boot? The video was great BTW. It is also accurate in describing what most of us think of, or should think of, the campaign mentality.
Caution Rachel,That attitude is exactly what allows messianic autocratic dictators in the door. They are always here to save us from the rampant corruption of our duly elected representatives.Distributed corruption is always better than the corruption of totalitarianism. That's what checks and balances are all about. Keep corruption in check by balancing it. My suggestion is to pin the candidates down on what exactly are they going to >>do<< and how.My guess is Hilary is the only Dem who can deliver on anything she might promise, and McCain is the only Republican who might do the same.but I like the idea of periodically declaring the presidency open for lack of qualified candidates. Should have done that last election...P.S. to jim jordan: Fascism >is< Corporatism - on a government scale.
You make good points Jim Jordan:Is it possible that corporatism and fascism have joined forces? This is what I think is happening, but I will need to take the time to gather evidence for you to support my claim. It is also accurate in describing what most of us think of, or should think of, the campaign mentality. This leads one to wonder why are they only talking abnout Bullshit issues. Do they really think we the people are that dumb? Well, I suppose most Americans are that dumb, that is why they keep feeding us the Bullshit. It must sell or they wouldn't keep on trying to sell it. People that are not dumb don't even bother with the "Mainstream" Old Media Bullshit Feeder anymore. We choose to get our news from independent journalists and public broadcasting.
Jodie, My guess is Hilary is the only Dem who can deliver on anything she might promise, and McCain is the only Republican who might do the same. You poor, poor thing. I want to cry, and hold you in my arms and stroke you like I would a pitiful pussy cat.You have been fed the "Bullshit Feeder" too long. You have bought into the lies. You should not judge the presidential candidates based on what they say, you should look at what they have done in the past. Have you bothered to check out McCain's or Clinton's past record. You can't even do this for Hillary because her files from her time as first Lady are kept Confidential. Why would you support Warmongers anyhow? And you don'thave to worry about me being for totalitarianism. I support Ron Paul, remember?
Rachel,I don't see myself as a pussy cat. But lying in your arms paints an intriguing picture. No, its just an opinion I've got after years and years of watching what happens to good intentions.Obama reminds me of JFK. For all his charisma and youth appeal, he damn near got us all killed because he didn't know what he was doing. The generals all thought they could push him around. In his 1000 days in office he managed to get himself into VietNam, screwed in the Bay of Pigs, and almost nuked by Soviet/Cuban forces he never even knew were poised to nuke him - and the entire SE seaboard and US Atlantic fleet.Inexperience is really dangerous when combined with charisma. Obama needs to be the governor of Illinois or something before he is ready for the oval office.I've been watching McCain for many many years. I remember him when he came back from Viet Nam. He's cost me some money, but the man is beyond reproach. Perhaps to the point of being an anachronism. It is my observation, good or bad, that retired warriors know the language of war and peace better than anyone, and because they do, they plot the most effective path to peace. Not saying I'm a Republican or voting that way, just noting that if I was, that's where I would put my vote. But I don't think he will be in the final match up. He doesn't dish out enough bullshit to make the cut.Ron Paul? Interesting mental exercise but not ready for prime time. This is the real world. Messy, corrupt, complex, delicate and stubborn at the same time, but the one we live in. We need somebody who is good in a knife fight, yet whose values are tolerable. I think Hillary works. If I was Democrat that's where I would go.
Jodie,I admire you for arguing your point.Hmmm...Is this a Christian blog?I wonder what Jesus would say to your points about McCain...McCain only cares about himself. He has built his whole life career around being an American warrior, and he exploits this. He is not ready to give this up even if the wars we are fighting are unjust. The foundations of Christianity teach us that the criteria for a just war do not match what America has been doing in Iraq.Nor are the criterias for a just war in harmony with the concept of a preemptive nuclear war against Iran. Yet McCain, among most all the other Republican candidates support the concept of a preemtive nuclear war with Iran, and yet they claim to be Christians and men of faith?
It is my observation, good or bad, that retired warriors know the language of war and peace better than anyone, and because they do, they plot the most effective path to peace. Can someone please explain to me how war and force leads to peace? Can someone please imagine what it would be like if China were setting up bases all throughout the Tri-cities and forcing their ideals on you and stealing your resources and blowing up your schools and churches and raping your women and murdering your neighbors. How would you act? Would you like it? Would you not retaliate like many Iraqians have or would you submit humbly to their will.
Ron Paul? Interesting mental exercise but not ready for prime time. This is the real world. Messy, corrupt, complex, delicate and stubborn at the same time, but the one we live in.Hmmm, this remides me of the story about the times when Christ walked the Earth. The people weren't ready for Him either. If Ron Paul were to gain more support, I am sure he would be assassinated, just as all the other peacemakers before him have.As for Hillary.....do your own damn research. I gave you a good starting point! The articles I provided are overwhelming evidence where the concentration of ruling power resides in the West ( the elite CFR "Council of Foreigh Relations" and family of organizations... ) The CFR and family of globalist organizations are and have been the real rulers behind the scenes for generations since their creation. CFR "fathers" and "mothers" (the 'old guard' who have one foot in the grave) recruit and train future CFR generations in doctrines and principles of imperialism, attracting like-minded " elite" and "hubirs saturated" individuals who seek the trappings of power, prestige, and wealth above all else. Presidential candidates must first seek and receive CFR approval to be President. Wait and see... Eph. 6: 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.... "CFR and family..."
