Shuck and Jive's Fifteen Minutes

Folks are googling the phrase "Shuck and Jive" today. New York attorney general, Andrew Cuomo, used the phrase regarding Hillary's win in New Hampshire:
”It’s not a TV crazed race. Frankly you can’t buy your way into it,” Cuomo said. “You can’t shuck and jive at a press conference,” he added. “All those moves you can make with the press don’t work when you’re in someone’s living room.”
Folks over at the DailyKos are debating whether or not Cuomo was race-baiting by using that expression in regards to Obama. I will let you make your mind up about that.

I just want you to have sympathy for me due to my surname, Shuck. It ain't easy growing up Shuck. Like a boy named Sue, I had to defend my honor many a time in grammar school.

Every time you say, "Aw Shucks," you are using my name in vain. I therefore, have the obligation to smite you.

And what lovely word rhymes with Shuck? I am not even allowed to play the name game.

Shuck, Shuck, bo-buck
banana-fana fo f________

see what I mean?

My son, also unfortunately a Shuck, has taken his inward pain and externalized it aggressively. His e-mail address says it clearly to all who would screw with him, "shuckoff."

The next time you shuck corn, shuck an oyster, or shuck and jive, remember you could be shucking a real live person.

  5. By the way, did you see the positive feedback you got at "Pam's House Blend"? It got 40 comments, but for some reason I can't read them (maybe I need to sign up or something.)
