This just in. Another photo finish at the amendment B steeplechase. Greater Atlanta, the largest presbytery in the PCUSA, voted 243-233 in favor of B, moving from a history of being yellow to justice blue!
According to Bruce the Bookie, 14 presbyteries vote today. He has the odds on favorites.
Go Blue!
Giddings-Lovejoy, Yes. I think it was 125-58.
ReplyDeleteYeah Santa Fe! I did find out that New Covenant voted against. It's amazing to me that Tres Rios passed it, and New Covenant did not. If West Texans can evolve, anyone can.
ReplyDeleteGreat news, Alex!
ReplyDeleteSara! LOL
Giddings-Lovejoy was HUGE!
ReplyDeleteOne of our biggest churches walked out after the vote . . . but . . . they made their decision long ago. There's been no denominational identification on their website for at least a year. And they won't leave the denomination, rumor has it, because they want to build.
But overall, it was a good day. And in 50 years - so long, too long, but foreseeable - I don't believe children will ever believe that this was such a big issue.
That was huge, better than 2-1.
ReplyDeleteThe big, baby, bully churches can walk out in a huff if they want. The tide is changing.
