In the sermon on Sunday, I had folks take pencils and write on their bulletins about what they thought Jesus was like. I am starting to get back the stories. One person said that if Jesus were alive today he would go by the name of Hank and that John Prine would be his disciple.
I thought that fit our bunch pretty well.
We love Jesus in spite of ourselves. Here's the First Pres. official minstrel, John Prine, along with Iris Dement.
With John Prine as a Disciple and Iris Dement as an Angel, how can you NOT love a modern Jesus?

ReplyDeleteI just told you about this comment secondhand; I don't even know who made this comment. But I was told that this individual named two would be modern disciples, one being John Prine. I can't remember who the other one was. Now I'd like to know. Maybe whoever made that observation will let us know.
